Chicago is known for relentless, lip-splitting, bone-chilling winters.
But this February, we’re turning up the heat.

Introducing SMACKDOWN. One incredible mac-and-cheese cook-off,
for one truly remarkable cause. SMACKDOWN was created to “raise a little green” for the Organic School Project — giving Chicago kids the tools they need to not only eat better, but live better.

The main event:
10 professional chefs and 15 culinary amateurs (chosen by submission) battle it out for the MACdaddy title.

300 guests get a taste of some of the best mac-and-cheese they’ve ever encountered. And a panel of three celebrity judges, plus the principal of Alcott School (an OSP partner school) will choose the winner.
The contest will be held at Goose Island Brewery/Wrigleyville on Thursday, February 19th, 2009 from 7 - 10PM and will include cocktails, appetizers and desserts, eclectic entertainment, live music, silent auction, a few surprises and the chance to mingle with Chicago’s most celebrated chefs and personalities. All for just $75 per person ($100 at the door). Goose Island Brewery/Wrigleyville is located at 3535 North Clark Avenue, Chicago, 60657.

The prize :
Aside from the tantalizing MACdaddy title, trophy and bragging rights, the winning recipe will be featured on the OSP school lunch menu until the next SMACKDOWN. The three runners up will also receive recognition and MAC-worthy trophies.
